Agility Access

The adoption of Agile IT and cloud computing technologies has increased the importance of identity management by an order of magnitude. In previous IT operating models, single-sign-on was an important capability to help improve overall system security and user satisfaction by reducing the proliferation of passwords. With Agile IT environments, identity management becomes a key underlying technology. Because Agile IT environments are highly dynamic and involve large numbers of virtual and physical machines, located in multiple clouds both inside and outside the enterprise, old-school identity management and password management solutions are simply not an option. Full identity federation solutions are required to bring order to the otherwise chaotic environment. The Agility Access solution provides industry-leading identity management capabilities to the ServiceMesh Agility Platform. These capabilities are used both by the Agility Platform itself and by all of the services (IaaS virtual machines, PaaS, and SaaS) managed by the Agility Platform. Agility Access provides out-of-the-box support for SaaS applications such as Salesforce.com, Google Docs, and IVT. It supports connection to standard user databases such as Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP and X.500. Finally, it supports identity federation using standards-based protocols such as Kerberos, WS-TRUST, X.509, and OpenID.
