Enterprise application portfolios are large and complex, often containing 10’s of thousands of applications running on hundreds of different platforms. A disciplined and automated approach is needed to inventory, categorize, profile and prioritize these workloads for migration to Agile IT operating models.

Agility Planner leverages existing application and platform information sources including CMDBs, and combines this with service provider capabilities and SLA parameters, to analyze, classify, and score each workload according to a programmable criteria set. Agility Planner generates Cloud Readiness™ and Cloud Value™ scores and recommends which service providers are most appropriate for each workload by automatically comparing needs to current market offerings.

The resulting scores and any recommended remediation efforts are tracked in a customizable approval workflow. Workloads obtaining approval proceed to Agility Factory to be assembled and built. Agility Planner also defines initial policies for each workload, such as operating limits, applicable regulatory restrictions, geographic deployment restrictions, security parameters, and other right-sizing and right-placement criteria. These policies are later enforced when end users provision these workloads to do their work.
