Recap of Cloud Computing Expo – NYC

by  \  13 Jun, 2011 \  6:00am EDT

ServiceMesh presented in general and technical sessions at Cloud Computing Expo last week.

ServiceMesh’s Anthony Skipper was mentioned for having the best technical session of the week from other bloggers for his presentation entitled, “Cloud Scar Tissue: Real world implementation lessons learned from the early adopters” (download presentation). Anthony shared several enterprise customer experiences and discussed a range of “self-inflicted wounds” that some enterprises have endured as part of their cloud journey. The audience seemed to appreciate the back-to-back teachable moments that Anthony had compiled from the field.

ServiceMesh’s Dave Roberts spoke to a full house during his general session entitled, “The Big Win: Stop Playing Small-Ball with Your Cloud Strategy” (download presentation). Dave provided a much needed perspective for conference attendees by illustrating the risks and limitations of getting wrapped up in tactical IT operational improvements with cloud, and thereby missing out on the larger strategic opportunities that can be provided to the business.

We’re looking forward to the next Cloud Computing Expo in Santa Clara this November.
